Future-Proofing USD 418 Facilities
BULLPUP STRONG
WHY ARE FACILITY UPDATES NEEDED?
Modern education has new needs, and our community’s ability to thrive depends on the quality of our schools.
As we look at the future, many of our facilities are approaching end of life. Our classroom configurations and infrastructure for technology are outdated. Safety, security, and accessibility have become critical societal priorities for both students and staff. As construction costs rise, these updates will become more expensive in the future.
AGE OF USD 418 BUILDINGS

HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Community members, staff, and families provided input in meetings, and gave advice through multiple surveys. Through these responses, the USD 418 Board of Education saw an overwhelming community desire to make the most of existing locations and facilities.
This led to the current proposal that focuses on upgrades to McPherson High School in its current location, updates to each elementary school, and necessary maintenance updates to the middle school. In addition, it will address safety and security in all buildings, while focusing on upgrading the most critical systems in each location.
